Follow the trail from lookout campground to the Crystal Peak mine. Bring a hammer and a bucket for a day of rockhounding. The road is a little rough, but any 2wd vehicle should be adequate.

Driving Directions Take I-80 West from Reno, NV. Take the first exit to Verdi and follow for 2.5 mi. to Bridge St. on your right. Turn and follow for 0.5 mi. over 2 bridges until you reach Dog Valley rd. (002) on your right. Follow for 8.3 mi to the sign for Lookout Campground. Turn left and park in the parking area near the entrance. The trail begins near the group use area.
